Please analyze Aristotle’s main points of his argument for his ethical theory of The Mean/The Middle in relationship to acquiring happiness and living a virtuous life. You will need to decide whether you agree or not with his theory. You will also need to determine whether or not his theory would actually produce sustainable lifetime happiness/contentment. Therefore you will need to consider whether or not Aristotle’s argument that living in the mean will produce sustainable happiness:

DECIDE IF HIS ARGUMENT IS VALID! 1. Your custom papers will need to either defend (agree) or refute (disagree) with Aristotle’s theory of the Mean your thesis statement should state this at the end of your introductory paragraph. (This means that you will need to state in the introductory paragraph of your essay whether or not you agree or disagree with Aristotle’s theory of the Mean. Your agreement or disagreement will be your thesis statement.) 2. Your paper will need to summarize the main points in the text and discuss and analyze them in relationship to Aristotle’s theory regarding ethics and happiness.

3. Your paper will need to use a real-life example to support your thesis. 4. The conclusion in your paper will need to reemphasize the thesis of your paper and also present a final thoughtful reflective analysis of your thesis/argument. Your papers must include the following: 1. A clearly defined thesis statement that presents the argument for your entire paper. 2. Specific and clear examples from the text and real life that supports your thesis. 3.

Your paper must contain in-depth analysis and proper reasoning. This means that you must reflect on your thesis statement in relationship to the primary text. 14. The analysis you present must also be logical in its presentation. This means that your ideas contained within the body of your paper must be presented in a specific organized and structured format.

15. Your paper must be the required length with the proper MLA one-inch margins. I will not accept any paper that is not the required length. To prepare for this paper you should consider the following items: • Decide if you think Aristotle’s idea that living in the mean will actually lead to a virtuous life and whether or not this would make a person really sustainably happy. Can this theory be applied empirically in today’s world? Why or Why not?

• Does Aristotle support his argument? Do all of the points he makes in the text really add up to the conclusion that living in the mean (a life in moderation) will bring sustainable contentment in life? • Would his ideas actually work in real life today? As you look at the world in which you live do you personally see whether or not people’s actions lead to good or bad results; does living in the mean lead to a balanced life; do people really work or aim toward a best good of happiness; can we really lead a virtuous life?
