Assignment 2: Final Project You have been hired as a consultant to assist a local police department convert to a Community Policing strategy. Create a plan that will guide the department through the change.
Assume the Chief you are working for is new to the concept, so your plan will need to include: • The basics of Community Policing • Benefits of this strategy • Recruiting and training: what qualities, skills, education, etc do you believe the patrol officers need to have? How will you ensure they have these qualities? • Changes in patrol officer’s duties • How will the department evaluate the success or failure of the new strategy Keep in mind the needs of the community and the ideas proposed in the Broken Windows article.
Your plan should be at least 3-4 pages in length. Cite any sources you use on a separate page by using APA guidelines. Assignment 2 Grading Criteria Accurately explained the basics of Community Policing and its benefits. Displayed an understanding of the traits necessary for patrol officers in a CP department. Offered reasonable suggestions for recruiting and training, in order to field a patrol staff with these traits.
Explained how a patrol officer’s duties will change, due to the switch to CP. Offered a reasonable method for evaluating the success or failure of the program. Used correct spelling, grammar, and professional vocabulary and cited all sources using the APA format. This is suppose to be some time of plan.
