Healthcare Policies Integrative Paper

Requirement 1: Choose a specific healthcare policy to investigate as part of the Final Integrative Paper.
Healthcare policies should be from the past 10 years. Possible policy issues suitable for the paper include, but are not limited to, topics relevant for:
• All healthcare organizations, not just hospitals (e.g. insurance companies, ambulatory-care centers, long-term care centers, hospice facilities, outpatient centers, labs, pharmaceutical companies, wellness centers, prison infirmaries, etc.)
• Multiple sectors of the healthcare economy (i.e. for-profit, not-for-profit, and government organizations)
• Multiple healthcare stakeholders (not just clinicians & administrators)
Numerous health policies have affected health care and have implications for its delivery, options for care, accessibility, cost, and outcomes. You are encouraged to explore a current policy and delivery area of interest to you.

Requirement 2: Write a 500 word paper in which you formulate a research question or problem statement around the health care policy chosen in Week Two and provide background information, including the following:
• Brief statement of the problem
• Purpose of the study
• Research questions
• History of the policy
• Identification of five key societal variables and market forces that contributed to shaping the policy
• Five key effects of the policy on health care

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Requirement 3: Write a 1200 word paper, expanding on your Research Question and Background assignment that will become the Introduction section for the Final Integrative Paper.

Include the following in this section (Introduction) of your paper:
• Title page
• Introduction and background
• Purpose statement
• Research questions
• Definition of terms

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Requirement 4: Write a 1500 word literature review that includes the articles from the Annotated Bibliography assignment and connects those articles to your problem, purpose, and research questions.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Include at least five scholarly references.

Submit your assignment.
Note: When compiling your Literature Review, do not cut and paste the Annotated Bibliography into the integrated paper. Instead, create a cohesive literature review by integrating content from the annotation for each article.

Requirement 5: Write a 1,050 word paper that will become the Analysis section for the Final Integrative Paper.

Include the following elements in the Analysis section:
• Synthesize findings from the literature review with the policy topic for the project.
• Explore the effect the policy has had on the segment of the health care delivery area.
• Consider the social, economic, ethical, legal, and political forces that have shaped the policy and delivery of services.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Include at least five scholarly references.

Requirement 6: Write a 350 word Recommendations and Conclusions section for the paper, addressing recommendations to the policy that will allow it to adapt to the changing healthcare landscape. Consider how social, economic, ethical, legal, and political forces will affect a change in the policy, and how a change affects the paradigm defined by these forces.

Compile the final assignment. The paper must combine the work of previous weeks, taking into account peer review comments and facilitator feedback, with the addition of an abstract added to the Introduction section. The body of the paper must be approximately 3,850 to 6,650 words, not counting the title page, abstract, and references. Do not just cut and paste the prior assignments. This should read and flow as an integrated paper.
Include your recommendations and conclusions in your compiled assignment, not as a separate attachment.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Include at least five scholarly references.
