The most effective way to begin with the end in mind is to develop a personal mission statement. The
personal mission statement is a personal constitution; it’s fundamentally changeless. Habit 2 is based on Personal Leadership so “Become the Person You Want to Be!” The most effective way to “Begin With The End In Mind” is to focus on what you want to be and do; and the values and principles upon which being and doing are based. A personal statement is not something you write overnight. It takes deep introspection, careful analysis, thoughtful expression, and often many rewrites to produce it in final form. Your mission statement becomes your constitution, the solid expression of your vision and values.
