The two theoretical approaches I want to use are Glassers choice theory and Bill rogers theory the text book I need to relate to is called EDFD260 Teaching and Managing Learning Environments complied by Joanne harris and Wendy Moran ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES ASSESSMENT A: BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT PLAN WEIGHT 20% Individual assignment. 3 pages / 1000 words Develop a behaviour management plan, for a “typical” mainstream, mixed-ability class in a “typical” primary school, for your own use in your future practicum and beginning your teaching career. • The plan should be based on one or two of the theoretical approaches studied in class. • The plan should address all specified phases of behaviour management, including: • the preparatory and establishment phases; • preventative measures; • low level / unobtrusive / non-punitive interventions; • second tier responses; and • more significant interventions / moving beyond the classroom. Please note, this is NOT an essay: students should use the template provided on the LEO. Please refer to the hints / guide on the LEO. More detailed advice on the meaning of terms / phases / models will be provided in the lectures, readings and tutorials, particularly (bot not exclusively) in Lecture Weeks 4, 5 and 6. You may make use of sentences, paragraphs and dot points. Criteria for Assessment of Behaviour Management Plan Plan (18 marks) • Degree of emphasis on positive, preventative, non-obtrusive and non-punitive measures; • Evidence of awareness of school policies and practices in promoting desired behaviours and responding to inappropriate behaviours at each level; • Appropriateness of the sequencing of steps in the strategies proposed; • Evidence of original, critical, professional reflection; • Effectiveness of the use of theoretical frameworks to support propositions. General: (2 marks) • Compliance with academic conventions, including adherence to length guidelines; • Clarity and correctness of English expression; • Correctness and completeness of acknowledgement and annotation of sources.
