For this assignment, you will create and share an infographic that introduces the technical problem and solution you have chosen for the research project. An infographic is a form of visual communication intended to capture readers’ attention and enhance their understanding of a topic. (Search “infographic” in Google Images, and you will find lots of examples.)


An infographic includes information (e.g., facts, statistics, examples, and definitions) as well as graphics (e.g., photographs, illustrations, icons, graphs, and charts). It is a one-page representation of a set of ideas ordered into an easy to read and visual form—like a digital poster.

Your infographic should

* Explain the technical problem you have chosen. Visually depict the problem’s causes/sources, effects, and significance. Use plain language and your own words to explain. (No quotes/copying.)
*Analyze the solution you have discovered. Visually depict how the solution works to remediate the problem. If it is a mechanism, consider portraying what it looks like and what its main components are. Use plain language and your own words to explain. (No quotes/copying.)
*Include APA references. List your sources at the bottom of the infographic using a smaller font. All borrowed information/data and graphics should be included in the references list. Use information from credible sources only.

Note: Parenthetical citations are not required for this assignment.

Choose a tool for creating the infographic. I recommend PowerPoint, Canva, or Piktochart. However, you may use Microsoft Word, Google Slides, or any other program that will allow you to integrate images and text.

This assignment is marked out of 20 points and is worth 20% of your final grade. It will be assessed for the following:

Content – Provides a well-researched and useful overview of the technical problem and solution, successfully integrating relevant and insightful information and graphics
Presentation – Incorporates effective design elements such as balance between text and graphics, visual hierarchy, logical flow, white space, consistent and effective use of colour and font, correct formatting, etc.
Professionalism – Includes grammatically correct text, accurate content, neat and attractive design, and credited sources.
